Low ceilings, hallways and landings need the pattern without the pendant. A flush mount sits tight to the ceiling and pushes the piercing outward across it, so you get the effect in a corridor where a hanging piece would be in the way.
These are the pieces to choose when the ceiling is under about 2.4 metres, or wherever a door swings.
